Personne n’en veut, j’achète. is a gallery created by the artist Jacques André and the curator Simon Delobel for Art Brussels.
The name of the gallery refers to the famous motto of the French painter Gustave Caillebotte (1848-1894), well-known in the History of Western Art not only for his impressionist paintings but also for his collection of works by his artists and friends (Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir and Camille Pissarro among others): when nobody wanted their works, he was the only to buy them!
For the booth of Personne n'en veut, j'achète., Jacques André presents for sale a brand new series of oil paintings on canvas specially created for the 2022 edition of the art fair.
Jacques André (°1969) already exhibited his work in various solo and group exhibitions in Europe: Etablissement d’en Face (Brussels), M HKA (Antwerp), Kunsthalle (Vienna), MAC’s (Grand-Hornu), Palais de Tokyo (Paris).
